Suzanne (Suzie) Shupe is an executive coach, strategic advisor, and consultant. Working in partnership with her clients, Suzie coaches and advises successful and emerging leaders in health care, non-profits, philanthropy, and private industry to become efficient and effective leaders. With a broad set of skills developed from her own years of experience as a CEO and Executive Director, consultant, and coach, Suzie provides a flexible approach tailored to each individual client, team or organization, meeting multiple client needs. By being a sounding board for ideas, and balancing collaborative support for her clients with probing exploration of alternatives, Suzie challenges her clients to push themselves to achieve results and fulfil their potential in their professional and personal lives.
Suzie’s effectiveness as a coach arises from her 25+ years of experience building successful organizations and programs from the ground up. After practicing civil law and holding a senior position at the U.S. Court of Appeals in San Francisco, Suzie became an executive in the non-profit and health care fields. She founded and developed several highly successful non-profit organizations, served as Executive Director of a key California health policy and advocacy organization, and most recently served as the Chief Executive Officer of a network of Community Health Centers in Northern California. Suzie’s clients span many industries including Professional Services, Healthcare, Philanthropy, Government, and Not-for Profit entities.
Suzie’s approach to coaching arises from her belief that identifying one’s purpose and establishing agency in one’s life and work are the keys to accomplishment and success. Suzie takes a practical, down-to-earth, and results-driven approach to coaching and advising, using a mix of consulting and coaching skills, tools, and proven methods to challenge leaders to grow. Suzie has a B.A. from Barnard College of Columbia University and a J.D. from U.C.L.A. School of Law. She is a Certified Executive Coach, Certified Healthcare Leadership Coach, and Certified Career Coach through the Center for Executive Coaching. Suzie holds the Associate Certified Coach (A.C.C.) credential from the International Coaching Federation and is qualified to administer the Profile XT assessment.
